EU Air Safety List | European Commission

 

On 9 June 2026, the Commission has updated the EU Air Safety List, which is a list of airlines that are subject to an operating ban or operational restrictions within the European Union, due to not meeting international aviation safety standards. The airlines that are included on the ASL are banned from operating to, from or over the EU territory.

 

Following the update of June 2026, 154 air carriers are banned from EU skies:

• 126 airlines certified in 16 countries, due to a lack of safety oversight by the aviation authorities in these states;
• 22 airlines certified in Russia, as well as 6 individual airlines from other countries, based on serious safety deficiencies identified: Air Express Algeria (Algeria), Air Zimbabwe (Zimbabwe), Avior Airlines (Venezuela), Iran Aseman Airlines (Iran), Fly Baghdad (Iraq) and Iraqi Airways (Iraq).

An additional two airlines are subject to operational restrictions and can only fly to the EU with specific aircraft types: Iran Air (Iran) and Air Koryo (Democratic People's Republic of Korea).

Compared to the previous EU Air Safety List published in December 2026, all air carriers certified in Kyrgyzstan have now been removed from the List. Air Express Algeria has been included in the List and can no longer operate in the EU.
