On Thursday, May 28, a gala dinner was held at Prague’s iconic Dancing House to mark the 132nd semi-annual conference of the European association ECTAA. This exceptional evening brought together representatives of the European travel industry at one of the most striking architectural landmarks of modern Prague—and symbolically, in the very year that the Dancing House celebrates its 30th anniversary.

Attendees had the opportunity to learn about the fascinating story behind this unique building. This architectural gem by Vlado Milunić and Frank Gehry, known worldwide by the nickname “Ginger and Fred,” pays homage to the legendary dance duo Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire. The building’s dynamic silhouette resembles a dancing couple and perfectly captures the harmony of movement and stillness that makes the Dancing House one of Prague’s most photographed structures.

The guests were also welcomed by AČCKA President Roman Škrabánek, who highlighted the importance of international cooperation among European tourism associations.

The gala evening was marked by an emotional atmosphere of a friendly farewell to prominent figures in European tourism—ECTAA President Frank Oostdam, from the Dutch association ANVR; Walter Schut from the same association; and Pedro Costa Ferreira from the Portuguese APVT. The evening was filled with memories, expressions of gratitude, and heartfelt reunions, which once again reaffirmed the strong bonds across the European tourism sector.
